Rebecca Barnard, a long-running collaborator with Stephen Cummings and others in the Melbourne music scene, led the Australian indie band Rebecca's Empire throughout the 1990s. In 2006, Barnard released her first solo album, 'Fortified', featuring a more laid-back sound, incorporating blues, pop and country influences. This was followed in 2010 by 'Everlasting', a smooth, sophisticated adult pop record, produced by jazz pianist Barney McAll.
