Previous stints under the drummer's belt include spells with master warlock Thorn, and as the original drummer for Brazilian metal band Soulfly. Prior to joining Soulfly, he also played with New York Hardcore band Shelter in 1996. He also played drums for one of the most influentual political bands from New York in the late 80s/early 90s: Nausea. He played drums on the album 'The Hollowing' with metal band Crisis[1].
