Shared Arms started off as a side project in July 2009 with Mat Stewart on the drums, Joey Acott playing guitar and vocals, and Danny Horodniczy on the bass. The three of them wrote and recorded 5 songs that first month which would later be known as "Session II". A few months later, Jesse joined the band after hearing the recordings and was then put on lead vocal and guitar duties.
