Sinéad O'Connor's 1998 Concert History

Sinéad O'Connor (born Sinéad Marie Bernadette O'Connor in Dublin, Ireland; December 8, 1966 – July 26, 2023) was a singer-songwriter and activist who catapulted to global fame with the 1990 hit "Nothing Compares 2 U" (written by Prince). Two years later, she tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II on "Saturday Night Live” to protest child abuse within the Roman Catholic Church. This garnered global criticism, but O’Connor continued campaigning for the human rights of children, refugees, women, and other vulnerable populations until her passing on July 26, 2023, at the age of 56. Upon learning of her death, Ice-T tweeted, “She stood for something...Unlike most people.” In 2018, O'Connor converted to Islam, adopting the name Shuhada' Sadaqat. Her life and career, including her friendship with Kris Kristofferson, were explored in her 2021 memoir "Rememberings" and the 2022 documentary "Nothing Compares." Her 1987 single "Drink Before the War" was featured in the HBO Max series "Euphoria” in 2022.
