Sly Stone's 1981 Concert History

Sly Stone (March 15, 1943 - June 9, 2025) was a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and DJ who founded Sly and the Family Stone in 1966. He also performed as a solo artist, releasing approximately a dozen singles. In 1975, he released his debut solo album "High on You" (1975). During the late '70s and early '80s, Sly and The Family Stone faced a series of issues that led to its formal disbandment in 1983. Stone soon thereafter disappeared from the public spotlight but re-emerged in 2006 when he performed with the band at a Grammy Awards tribute show. In 2011, he released his second and final solo album "I'm Back! Family & Friends." His autobiography was published in 2023 with his final solo single "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" following a few months later. On June 9, 2025, Sly Stone passed away from COPD at the age of 82.
