Soane Filitonga, born in the village of Vava'u in Tonga, was a pioneering New Zealand DJ and producer who began his career as a doorman at the Auckland Roma and Box/Cause Celebre nightclubs in the the late 1980s and early 1990s. He began begun DJing at various parties around Auckland in 1989 and by 1994 had a regular Sunday residency at Cause Celebre. Soane released a DJ mix album 'In Music' in 2002 and followed this two years later with a full length album, 'Tongan Chic.
