The Spider Babies were a self proclaimed garage trash/punk rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band is most known for its' vox fuzz sound and snotty vocals mixed with plenty of sex and violence. The band had 3 lineups and only came to an end when 2 members of the band, the bassist and drummer were killed in a car accident. The singer and mastermind of the Spider Babies, Kevin "Spider Baby" Shapen still plays in Portland's Coco Cobra and the Killers as the lead guitarist.
