Sungazer is a duo project between bassist Adam Neely and drummer Shawn Crowder. The music fits somewhere between EDM, progressive rock, and jazz. The initial spark for the band was to try an unconventional recording/production process: Shawn would go into the studio and record himself playing drums, by himself, with no music written, and would play along to a click track and improvise some short-form mini "solos". Then, Adam would take what was recorded, and write music to that afterwards.
