Rising Sons (1965-1966) Concert History

In 1965, the folk-influenced blues rock band Rising Suns was formed by Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder in Los Angeles, California. While the band was short-lived, breaking up in 1966, it helped to launch the careers of both Taj Mahal, one of the most influential blues musicians of the 20th century, and Ry Cooder, who is now widely considered to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
