In 2002, Ario Hendarwan (lead vocals/guitar), Bawono "Beni" Adhiantoro (drums), Martino "Tino" Runtukahu (guitar) and Setyo Dwiharso (bass) - all students at Institut Kesenian Jakarta - started jamming and came up with original songs that combined crunching garage rock distortion with breathtaking vocal harmonies.
