The Busymen Concert History

The Busymen formed in Brisbane in 1997 when vocalist Robert Smith befriended guitarist David Crawford and bass player Richard Buchanan. They were fans of 60's garage rock music and decided to form a band to help revive it and enlisted drummer Ben Jones from local bands Blowhard, Dream Poppies and Godnose to complete the line-up. Jones departed the band in 1998 to focus on his other bands, and then Crawford left in early 2000. Smith and Buchanan started a new line-up featuring guitarist Joey Mann and Scott Lapthorne on guitar and drums.
