In February 2009, Coastals frontman and guitarist Drew Champion called his longtime friend, drummer Will Dobud to see if he wanted to start a punk band. Burned out, confused, and angry, he needed an outlet to vent his frustration. Drew, Will, and bassist Andre Pagliarini quickly penned 12 songs, and took them to legendary producer Don Zientara (Fugazi, Jimmy Eat World, Minor Threat) at DC’s famed Inner Ear Studios.
