The Hawkline Monster is a collective of musicians in the Long Beach, California area. Founded by Michael Patrick Vitale, the group crafts arrangements around songs written by him. Due to the very eclectic nature of their music, they decided to name the group after one of Vitale's favorite author's books "The Hawkline Monster" by Richard Brautigan.
