The Poonanies formed in 1995 and quickly bcame a common name in Chicago punk rock. Known for their intense shows, they were a band that was able to engage a crowd under any circumstance. The Poonanies music was hard, aggresive, yet melodic and complex. They were intent on writing the soundtrack to their lives and while doing so wrote the music that those who supported them were able to apply to their own.
