The Tennessee Three Concert History

The Tennessee Three, is the backing band of Johnny Cash, they toured, and recorded with Cash from 1955 to 1997, providing the "boom-chicka-boom" sound found in many of Cash's songs. The Tennessee Three was originally The Tennessee Two, original members were Luther Perkins, playing lead guitar, and Marshall Grant, on bass. The Two Became the Three, in 1960 when drummer W.S. Holland joined the group. Little more then 6 months after the recording of Cash's groundbreaking album, At Folsom Prison, Luther Perkins died in house fire.
