The Who's 2004 Concert History

The Who are an English rock band formed in London in 1964. The group's classic line-up consisted of vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist and principal songwriter Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. The Who are regarded as one of the most significant rock bands of the 20th century and have been associated with developments in live sound reinforcement, the use of synthesisers in rock music, and distinctive instrumental techniques employed by Townshend, Entwistle, and Moon.

Great day for a show. Myself and 3 other friends went over to JFK from Atlantic City by bus ,and walked the rest of the way to the stadium. The lineup wasThe Hooters,Santana Clash ,and The Who, . I see folks stumbling with the lineup in some posts, but this was it. Hooters were ok Day by Day big hit and went over well, it was so early in the day . In the break we went over to a spot or fenced area where 2 guys were selling Miller tall boy bears thru the space for a $1. in a big garbage can filled with ice. We had our beer break lol and missed Santana. The Clash were pretty good, I dont remember any bad booing much. Although Ive seen it at JFK befroe. Their was some violence, some body was throwing acid on a few floks, others went out in stretchers, and another guy had his belt off and was beating somebody with a belt buckle. All in close proximity. JFK can be rough at times. The Who came on , they were great! clear and loud and full of energy. Ox was great on his numbers and bass, Daltry great; played a little guitar, voice on fire, jogged in place through mid way till end of Who are You, Kenny Jones was great in his new role with the Who, Pete was great hammering out the power chords and vocals, all a lot of energy. A side note Mick Jagger was backstage with his daughter Jade( you can check this we saw him well) jumping up and down during Clash and Who performances, funny to see him doing so. During Reign Ore Me, someone was up on a pillar with a wine bota, and every time Roger sang Reign Ore me (Rain on me)the refrain; the folks below got a squirt. That was humorous, lol. It was a good day one of the last multiple act performances I has seen there.Electric Factory, Concerts East and John Sher used to string a lot together. Sadly all those friends and others from that day have passed from rough living and working . Lot of memories and with you all out there that were there. Keep rocking Philly and all, Ippy
