Mexican alternative band Víctimas del Doctor Cerebro started playing under the name of Tecnopal by the end of the 1980s, led by El Chipotle and El Abulón. When drummer El Bruja and guitarist El Destroyer joined, the name of the band was changed, soon recording its debut album, called Tecnopal.
