Virlan Garcia is a singer, guitarist, and composer in the Mexican regional genre, specializing in norteño, corridos, and bandas. Garcia comes from Sinaloa and he has written for a number of artists, including Gerardo Ortiz, who chose his "Fuego Cruzado" to open his smash Hoy Más Fuerte album. Garcia's own music follows the sierreño (trio) format. He plays rhythm guitar and is accompanied by Carlos Gomez on 12-string (lead) guitar and Edgar Salazar on tuba.
