Webstrarna bildades 1985 i Uppsala, Sverige. Ursprungligen kom de ur en tidigare uppsättning som hette Eklund-Jameson-Eklund-Tjäder. Deras debut-LP från 1985 heter Den stora saxen och var egenproduced, utgiven på det egna bolaget Websters Värld.
