Variously described as pop, soft rock, and blue-eyed soul, Capaldi began his music career on platforms like SoundCloud and Spotify, where he released his debut single "Bruises" in 2017. By 2018, he had attracted the attention of mainstream audiences, touring with Sam Smith on "The Thrill of It All European Tour" and winning Best Acoustic Act at the 2018 Scottish Alternative Music Awards.
