Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Halmstad, formed in 1995 by guitarist Michael Amott and vocalist Johan Liiva, both formerly of Carnage. The band originated as a project involving musicians from several established metal acts, and its line-up has included members associated with groups such as Carcass, Armageddon, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, The Agonist, Nevermore, Eucharist, and Once Human. Arch Enemy has released multiple studio, live, and compilation recordings.
