Cheap Trick was riding high on the surprise success of "At Budokan" in the Summer of '79. Last saw them two years before opening for KSS, not much had changed, which was a good thing as they always put on a great high energy show. I think next to Angus Young, nobody worked a stage harder then Rick Neilsen, he was all over the place, never missing a note. Robin Zander is one of those rare singers who sound exactly like they do on record in a live setting. Bun E. and Tom brought as usual on this very hot summer night under the stars. The legendary Bad Finger, or what was left of ot afyer so much tragic events, did not get a warm reception, I think most of the crowd was just too young to know their music, which was a shame.
