Terwijl de donkere wolken samenpakken en uiteindelijk al tijdens de eerder begonnen en uiteindelijk ingekorte show tot ontlading komen stijgt de band naar grote hoogte. Gezandstraald door lege bekertjes 1 van de beste optredens ooit!

2 uur spelen is 2 uur spelen, ondanks veel te late start door het onweer. Jan Smeets kwaad, 60.000 man ultiem blij. Heerlijke greatest hits show van Metallica.

NOG ALTIJD FAN
Toendertijd nog niet heel bekend met Ed Sheeran, maar na het zien van dit optreden was ik verkocht. Hierna Ed Sheeran nog een aantal keer live gezien en het was altijd fantastisch 😍

Wat een toffe trip was deze show. Ik werd er van het begin tot het einde in meegezogen. Ondanks de afstand tot het podium en het drukke publiek kwam het super mooi binnen. Toffe setting op het podium trouwens met mooie lichteffecten. 🙌🏻

GOTTA LOVE PAOLO
Deze man was zo’n beetje bij ieder optreden zat of stoned, maar op een gegeven moment is dat toch omgeslagen naar een professionele houding. Een zeer goed optreden van onze Italiaanse Schot.

Dit was zwaar memorabel. Na het drama van Pukkelpop ben je bij noodweer als dit enigszins op je hoede, maar Win Butler en zijn vriendjes kregen zo’n beetje iedereen aan het dansen in de regen. Here comes the night time!

RIDE THE LIGHTNING!
Onweersstorm denderde over Landgraaf, code rood! Iedereen weg van de lichtmasten en podia. Onder zeiltjes gehurkt de storm uitzitten... mocht Metallica nog spelen? Ja, het mocht, met een uur vertraging... en wat een set. Extra intens door wat er gebeurt was en gaande is... super vet! En dan... Ride the lightning! Die was even 3.0... de heren gingen er vol op en betrokken het hele publiek erbij! Metallica vaak gezien, maar deze? In mijn geheugen gegrift! Thanks pinkpop (en de weergoden) voor deze ervaring! Rock on!

My first pinkpop ever, rain in the car all the way to Landgraaf but the sun broke through when we got there. The main stage was overrun by enthousiasm... I'll never forget this great celebration!

For sure a legendary gig! Had a good time, dancing in the sun. But suddenly the sky turned black. I ended up in the toilet hiding for the sturm, rain and thunder, still dancing, but now in only 1 square metre, enjoying \here comes the night time\"

PERFECTION
Via de fanclub een meet and greet gewonnen met Metallica. Met als kerst op de taart de show mee mogen maken op zijkant podium van Pinkpop. Hoe mooi wil je het hebben? Het kan toch niet beter, je favoriete band zien en dan ook nog dat fantastische uitzicht over 60.000 mensen in het publiek. Een ervaring om nooit te vergeten. Enne spannend net voor de show, letterlijk Ride the Lightning
