Operating beneath the surface of London's underground, feeo, aka Theodora Laird, layers powerful Beth Gibbons-esque vocals over muggy, quietly psychedelic noise and ambience. Capturing the rainy nostalgia of day zero trip-hop and the humid sensuality of classic soul twinned with oily production. Somewhere between Mica Levi and Astrid Sonne, but gestures to different destinations, on the one hand recalling the theatrics of Kate Bush, on the other embracing the febrile dynamics and tension of Klein’s most elusive work.
