Green Day is a punk rock band formed in 1987 in East Bay, California. Its members include lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool. After developing an early cult following within the Bay Area punk scene, Green Day launched to mainstream success with its third album "Dookie" (1994).
