After the Rossington Collins Band broke up in 1982, two former members of the band went on to form The Rossington Band: Gary Rossington and his spouse Dale Krantz-Rossington. The band released its first album in 1986. It was titled "Return to the Scene of the Crime." It was followed by a second album "Love Your Man" in 1988, which was released under the band name "Rossington." Gary was also a former member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, which had broken up in 1977 after a plane crash led to the death of three members of the band. When Lynyrd Skynyrd reunited in 1987, Gary rejoined the band. As a result, the Rossington Band went on a long hiatus. In 2016, The Rossington Band released its third and final album: "Take It On Faith."
