She gained prominence in 2013 after winning the tenth season of the German television music competition "Deutschland sucht den Superstar," broadcast by RTL. Egli was the second contestant from Switzerland to win the title, following Luca Hänni, who won the previous season. She has sold over two million records in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.\[citation needed]
