While Manning left the band in 1986, Te Tragically Hip carried on to become one of Canada's most successful rock bands. Between 1989 and 2017, the band released 12 studio albums, nine of which reached the number one sport on the Canadian Albums Chart. The Tragically Hip permanently disbanded following the death of lead singer and guitarist Gord Downie in 2017.
