Kiss (often stylized as KIϟϟ) is an American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss. Over the years, the members of the band changed, but Stanley, Simmons, Frehley, and Criss remain the best-known lineup. Each of these original members created a unique stage persona with distinctive face paint and costumes. Stanley was the Starchild, Simmons the demon, Frehley the Spaceman, and Criss the Catman.
