Because of her unprecedented success as a drag queen musical artist, Vittar has been credited with influencing public interest in other musical artists who are also drag queens, as well as trans and travestis. She is also known for her activism for the rights of LGBTQ+ people, for which, in 2019, Time magazine included her in its list of Next Generation Leaders.
