After Warner Records discovered TikToks of Barrett singing, the label signed her in 2020 with her debut single "Pain" dropping that July. Her sixth single "I Hope Ur Miserable Until Ur Dead" (2021) was the first to land on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at 88. Her debut studio album was released on October 14, 2022. Shortly after releasing the album, Barrett performed at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas.
