Self Esteem is the stage name of Rebecca Lucy Taylor, a singer and songwriter from Rotherham, England. She began her music career in 2006 as part of Slow Club, a folk duo consisting of herself and Charles Watson. After Slow Club broke up in 2017, Self Esteem pursued a solo career, releasing her first single "Your Wife" later that year. In 2019, she dropped her debut album "Compliments Please" with "Prioritise Pleasure" following in 2021. "Prioritise Pleasure" received widespread critical acclaim, with The Guardian and other periodicals ranking it as the best album of the year.
