Chester Charles Bennington (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He was best known as the lead vocalist for Linkin Park, which he joined in 1999 replacing original lead vocalist Mark Wakefield. Between 2013 and 2015, he also performed as the lead vocalist for Stone Temple Pilots. He passed away from suicide on July 20, 2017 at the age of 41. A tribute concert was held for Bennington on October 27 of that year.
