DeShaun Dupree Holton (October 2, 1973 – April 11, 2006), better known as Proof, was a Detroit rapper who founded the hip-hop D12 with Eminem. Proof performed with other groups including 5 Elementz, Goon Sqwad, Promatic, and K-Stone. In 2000, Proof performed as a hype man for Eminem during the Up In Smoke Tour. Between 2004 and 2005, he dropped two studio albums. His life was cut short in 2006 when he was shot and killed at the CCC Club in Detroit.
