Strawbs are an English rock band founded in 1964. Led throughout by talented musician Dave Cousins, they are best-known for their folk-rock and progressive rock albums of the 1970s and for including Sandy Denny as an early member of the band (before she joined Fairport Convention) and Rick Wakeman for two albums (before he moved on to Yes). Strawbs were originally known as the Strawberry Hill Boys. Marquee club,Wardour Street London Sunday June 15th 1969
Strawbs wee top of the bill
Support acts were David Bowie and James Taylor.
That must have been some concert to have been at with James Taylor (signed to the Beatle's Apple records) and David Bowie both in their early 20's just getting their careers off the ground!
