Songwriter Matthew Lindgren left Los Angeles to live in Spain for five years to gather inspiration from the bottoms of absinthe bottles, and returned with a collection of songs (recorded with help from friends in The Warlocks and The Brian Jonestown Massacre) variously described as “Spiritualized with Spanish guitars,” “Leonard Cohen fronting the Bad Seeds”, “Elvis, but only Elvis at Sun”, “The resurrection of Cash”, or “Breakup songs for brokedown people.
