Clapton has stated that Trucks is the only slide guitar player that reminds him of Duane Allman. Derek comes from a musical family. His uncle is Butch Trucks, drummer and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band. Derek was a guitar prodigy, playing live with the Allman Brothers Band before he was a teen-ager.
