Desde hace más de veinte años, Eblis Alvarez, Mario Galeano y Pedro Ojeda han estado expuestos a músicas latinoamericanas tropicales que durante mucho tiempo (aún en estos días) han sido relegadas al último lugar del buen gusto. Vallenato, chicha peruana, raspa, champeta, algunos sonidos africanos y la cumbia en sus diferentes vertientes (rebajada, villera, sabanera) hacen parte del nuevo estilo que Los Pirañas exponen dentro del agitado panorama de la actualidad musical colombiana.
