Jezmez68 has 1 Chickasaw Mudd Puppies concert.

The Chickasaw Mudd Puppies was an American rock band, formed by Brant Slay (vocalist, washboard, harmonica) and Ben Reynolds (vocalist, percussion, electric guitar). The band was a major part of the music of Athens, Georgia, and were proteges of Michael Stipe, a local legend and member of R.E.M.. The Chickasaw Mudd Puppies recorded two albums, working with producers like Willie Dixon and John Keane. The band soon broke up, and Reynolds has since begun a solo career.

Something's not quite right here because I saw them in, I want to say, the latter part of the summer of 1992. They were playing by themselves in a little bar outside of Birmingham Alabama. The bar was a little hole in the wall, it was like a converted 7-Eleven that was now a bar and there was probably 100 people in the place and about 40 of us were paying attention to our guys everybody else was just going around handling bar business. We rode almost 3 hours to get there and stood literally two to three feet from them the entire show. Of course they weren't on a stage you know they were playing on a little raised 8-in platform-- rocking chair, spoons, washboard, the whole nine, harmonica!
Now nothing is rock solid of any of this--the date, the location, even the year, it could have been 91 but I'm pretty sure it was 92. But what I'm definitely sure about is seeing them in that little hole in the wall bar because I'll never forget it: one, because of them and two, because I met the girl that I should have spent the rest of my life with that night. We stood shoulder to shoulder in front of them screaming at the top of our lungs what we considered might be the words to the songs, sweating our asses off, barely communicating with each other but both of us knowing that we were doing a love at first sight thing. Unfortunately, the girl that I came with was sitting in a bar stool 30 ft behind us like it was church and to my dismay we took her car to the show. This girl was one of those few that you're supposed to recognize that it could change everything and don't let anything stop it from happening but I didn't know that at the time. I don't even know what her name was but I've looked back on it so, so many times because I was literally in love with her from first sight! She was hot and hot sweaty and she loved CMP as much as I did! Who knows what would have happened but at that moment in my life she was who I was supposed to be with and the relationship with the other girl didn't make it to the end of the year.
