Along with bands like Duran Duran and Billy Idol, he helped lead the "Second British Invasion of the United States", in which British synth-pop surged in popularity in the US, similarly to how English pop bands like The Beatles surged in popularity in the US in the 1960s. Jones should not be confused with the US-based metalcore vocalist of the same name.
