La Mojarra eléctrica is a 12-piece Colombian band who mixes afrobeat with traditional Colombian music based in Bogotá, Colombia. The band was formed in 2001 exploring the Colombian folk music (Bullerenge, Chirimia, Currulao... and many others) mixing it with afrodecending elements (Soukus, Ragga, Reggae ,Timba, cubana, Funk and Jazz ).
