Alternative rockers Charm Farm emerged from the suburbs of Detroit with a sound marrying the city's indigineous techno rhythms with the proto-punk spirit of the Stooges and the MC5. The group was led by singer/songwriter Dennis White, a graduate of Boston's Berklee School of Music; although he first recorded under the Charm Farm name in 1989, he then spent several years as a member of the techno group Inner City.
