Saababanks was formed in 2000 in Muncie, Indiana by guitarist Eric Johnson, bassist Mike Lewellen and drummer Ryan Croke. After a few months of songwriting the band cut a demo at Electric Audio with Steve Albini at the helm. Shortly afterward Ryan Croke left the band and was replaced with current drummer Brand Smith. Brand's recording studio in Markleville, Indiana became the band's new headquarters and the origin of all their subsequent demos and albums.
