Blue Scholars is a hip-hop duo from Seattle, Washington, United States, comprising MC Geologic and DJ Sabzi, who joined forces in 2002 as students at the University of Washington. The duo are vocal leftist activists (the name Blue Scholars is a pun on "blue collar") and issues of race-, sex-, and class-politics are featured heavily in their work, both in reference to the United States and to the Phillipines, from where Geologic's family emigrated.
