Was reminiscing and thought about the Divine Miss M concert that I saw at Red Rocks way back when. Nobody knew who the tall, skinny blonde in a white, long tail tux was. Only that he was her music director and opening act and he had that "IT". Started raining and Bette said " me and the girls (the Harletts) are freezing are tits off but that won't stop us" and they proceeded to do the entire concert wet and cold. What a fantastic night!

Bette Midler and her Harlettes. Barry Manilow was Bette's pianist and Music Director, and was just beginning to break out on his own. He did his own set during the concert, featuring songs from his debut album.
