Originally from Chobham, England, Peter Brian Gabriel (born February 13, 1950), is a 1950-02-13 year old musician and human rights activist who rose to prominence as a lead singer of Genesis from 1967 to 1975. The last Genesis album on which Gabriel appeared was 1974's "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway." After leaving Genesis, Phil Collins took over as lead singer. In 1977, Gabriel released "Solsbury Hill," his first single as a solo artist. The following year he released his debut studio album, the first of four consecutive self-titled albums. The third, released in 1980, was his first number-one in the UK.
