Their best-known recording was the 1967 single "A Whiter Shade of Pale", which sold over 10 million copies worldwide and was among the few singles to reach that level of commercial success. Although noted for baroque and classical influences, Procol Harum’s music was described as psychedelic rock and proto-progressive rock with elements of blues, rhythm and blues, and soul.

I saw Procol Harum in Montreal, Aug/20, 1971 at Place des Nations, a large outdoor venue at the Expo67 site.
