Persian Gulf was an 80s post-punk/Amerindie group consisting of main songwriter Hal Shows on guitars and vocals, Dave House on bass, and Chas Chase on drums. Their music had tinges of both folk and punk, and their lyrics often had political commentary. Their 1984 release Changing the Weather was hailed as one of the EPs of the year by then Village Voice critic Robert Christgau.
