TDU was formed in Washington DC in the summer of 1979 by Michael Barron (Guitar), Bob Boilen (Synth), Susan Mumford (Vocals), Joe Menacher (Bass) and Chris Thompson (Drums). Joe Menacher was replaced on Bass by Terry Baker in early 1980, and Lorenzo "Pee Wee" Jones replaced Chris Thompson on Drums later that year. TDU's first show was September 11, 1979 and their last show was December 26, 1981. TDU played two reunion shows at the original 930 F Street NW location of DC's famous 930 Club...
