The Doughboys is an American rock band formed in 1965 in Plainfield, New Jersey as "The Ascots". In 1966, the band won a battle of the bands contest on the Disc-O-Teen TV show. After winning the completion, the band its name to "The Doughboys". In 1968, The Doughboys broke up. In 2000, the band reunited. Its first studio album "Is It Now?" dropped in 2007. The Doughboys should not be confused with the Canadian punk band named "Doughboys".
